The Health Care Consumers’ Association (HCCA) is the peak health consumer organisation in the ACT. We work to improve the quality and safety of health services and advocate for health equity for people living in the Canberra region.
We provide a voice for consumers on health issues and support consumers to participate in all levels of health service planning, policy development and decision making. Our Consumer Participation program currently provides skilled representatives to more than 50 committees across the ACT health system
We work closely with our members, local communities, the ACT Government, service providers, non-government and voluntary organisations to provide coordinated action in improving the quality and safety of health services.
We are able to provide support for health services to engage and work with consumers on a range of issues and in a variety of different ways, such a focus groups, feedback on resources, consumer representatives for committess and advisory groups, and input on policy development and service design.
